Getting Started

SORT  AND LABEL YOUR PHOTOS

Sort by year, use calendars and planners to remember the events you had throughout the year. Make a calendar list of all the events for each year and keep this with the photos. Birthdays, holiday parties, vacations, births/deaths, and special event. Put each year’s worth of photos and memorabilia into a separate box. Take a year at a time and sort by event. As you do this write down specific information you may want to add. People, places, conversations, names, dates, events, anything you can remember!. If you write on the actual photo be sure to use a photo safe pencil or photo marker. You can make dividers for between each set of events and write the information on the divider. Put these “events” into chronological order.

GATHER YOUR PICTURES AND MAKE SURE YOUR PHOTOS ARE SAFE

Collect all of your photos and memorabilia into one place. Then Store your photos in an acid free, photo-safe storage box.

Photo boxes are great because they have dividers where you can organize your photos by year and event.

DECIDE ON THE THEME OF YOUR ALBUM AND CHOOSE YOUR PHOTOS

Look through the “Themes” on the project idea page, choose a theme or decide on a year of events album. Choose your favorite photos for the album keeping in mind that typical scrapbook pages have 1 to 4 photos on it. (A two page spread of an event will hold 2 to 8 pictures)

Your pictures can also be enlarged to showcase a single picture. Now you are ready to label your photos
